Rudy Gonzalez is a psychologist with more than 20 years experience in trauma-informed care, specialising in counselling and psychotherapy for diverse populations. Rudy sees children, adolescents and adults for a variety of mental health, behavioural issues, complex presentations and clinical issues. Rudy engages with his clients in a non judgmental, kind and warm manner.
Rudy has a diverse range of experiences and his professional journey including correctional facilities, community health services and secure welfare services. He has developed and managed therapeutic programs tailored to individuals with complex trauma histories, showcasing his expertise in psychological resilience and recovery.
Throughout his career, Rudy has focused on enhancing the capabilities of psychological practices to better support trauma survivors, notably refugees and at-risk youth. His tenure as General Manager at the Victorian Foundation for Survivors of Torture and as Director of Clinical Services at The Cairnmillar Institute. Rudy's contributions to the field extend to his published work and leadership in professional training sessions, aiming to elevate the standards of therapeutic care through evidence-based methodologies and community-focused interventions.
