Roni Sokolic has a calm and gentle therapeutic style. Her warmth, compassionate and considered approach shines through in her unique capacity to engage a range of clients at a deep and attuned manner. Roni is a qualified Social Worker and Family Therapist and has specialist training and experience in providing grief and loss therapy to support clients living with chronic or terminal illness, those in caregiver roles, grief, non-finite losses and bereavement.
Roni works collaboratively with clients at their own pace. Roni provides therapeutic interventions to children, individuals, couples, and families. Roni utilises evidence-based approaches to address trauma, family and parenting issues, relationship distress including separation and divorce, depression, anxiety and self-esteem issues.
Roni has completed additional training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) with children, Attachment Focussed and Child Centred Play Therapy (ages 3-10 years) which includes art and creative expressive interventions, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (externship), Systemic Therapy, and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. Roni is also employed as a counsellor in the paediatric palliative care sector and is on the committee of the Loss and Grief Practitioners Association.
Roni is in the process of becoming an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker.
